Our Lady of Victory celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation each Spring, typically by teens in their junior year of high school. In accordance with diocesan requirements, all Confirmation candidates must:
• be at least 15 years old;
• complete a minimum of the prior year's catechetical study;
• engage in an immediate preparation program;
• demonstrate a commitment to service;
• participate in a retreat experience before receiving the Sacrament.
Confirmation Preparations 2012-13
Confirmation Preparation sessions for candidates and parents/guardians will begin on Sunday Evening, January 24th. Each session includes a ritual prayer experience in Church, followed by a small group breakout session in the Education Center. Each session will begin at 6:30 and will end by 8:15.
Candidates who have not yet submitted their registration, sacrament data, and/or registration fees, are asked to please bring this info to the January 24th session.
To be eligible to prepare for Confirmation, youth must be: entering 10th grade this fall; at least 15 years old by April 2013; and, have completed at least one year of faith formation/youth ministry at OLV, prior to entering Confirmation preparation
All youth attending local public and Catholic high schools, wishing to be confirmed in spring 2013, are required to complete OLV’s Confirmation Preparation Process. If your family did not receive the August mailing, and if there is a young person in your family who wishes to be confirmed next spring, and meets all of the above prerequisites, please contact Laura in the Faith Formation Office, ASAP to ensure s/he is registered.
